FC Barcelona to hold third edition of Sports Technology Symposium

58499026On 9 and 10 November FC Barcelona will host the 2017 Sports Technology Symposium, a forum for the discussion of Performance & Data Analytics and Digital Experiences in the Sports Industry and the third annual edition of the event after previous successful symposiums in 2015 and 2016. This latest edition further consolidates the event as one of the most important in Europe and as an important pillar of Barça Innovation Hub project under whose remit it falls.

The Barça Innovation Hub is the Club’s vehicle for generating, acquiring and sharing innovative ideas in the area of sports knowledge in collaboration with other important brands and renowned professionals from around the world.  The Sports Technology Symposium, which will be held in 2017 once again at Camp Nou, is an invaluable part of achieving this objective with topics this year ranging from smart stadiums, talent identification, data driven strategies, mobile first to player development, new opportunities in sports and the Game.

As every year, the Symposium can count on the participation of specialists from all the relevant areas. From the field of Performance & Data Analytics speakers confirmed include Ivonne Cagle from NASA and from the world of sport Gareth Griffin from Formula 1, Mounir Zok from the US Olympic Committee, Nicolas Evans from FIFA and Stuart Metcalf from Tottenham Hotspur FC amongst others.
